Individual Therapy for People Ready to Feel Better —
Not Just Get Through

AnnieVovanPhotography_DrGlenna-026.jpg

Therapy is not only for moments of crisis.
It’s a space to pause, reflect, and intentionally care for your mental health — especially if you’ve been holding a lot together for a long time.

I work with individuals who are capable, thoughtful, and often outwardly high-functioning, yet privately feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. Many people come to therapy not because everything is falling apart, but because they’re tired of surviving and ready for meaningful change.

A Little About Me

Therapy is not only for moments of crisis.
It’s a space to pause, reflect, and intentionally care for your mental health — especially if you’ve been holding a lot together for a long time.

I work with individuals who are capable, thoughtful, and often outwardly high-functioning, yet privately feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. Many people come to therapy not because everything is falling apart, but because they’re tired of surviving and ready for meaningful change.

Let me introduce myself and the work I do

Who I Work With

Therapy with me may be a good fit if you:

  • Experience anxiety, overthinking, or chronic emotional exhaustion

  • Are recovering from emotional abuse or unhealthy relationship dynamics

  • Struggle with self-trust, boundaries, or persistent self-doubt

  • Feel responsible for holding everything together

  • Have tried to “push through” but feel increasingly depleted

  • Want a deeper understanding of patterns that keep repeating

Many people I work with describe feeling functioning but disconnected — doing what needs to be done, while quietly feeling lost or overwhelmed inside.

My Approach

Therapy that looks beneath the surface

My work is psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and grounded in emotional safety. That means we don’t just focus on symptoms — we explore patterns, emotional roles, and experiences that have shaped how you relate to yourself and others.

Together, we work to understand:

  • How early experiences and relationships continue to influence you

  • Why certain emotional or relational patterns repeat

  • What anxiety, exhaustion, or numbness may be communicating

Insight is important — but insight alone doesn’t always bring relief. Healing also involves the body, the nervous system, and having support while change unfolds.

EMDR Therapy

A body-informed approach to healing and recovery

A body-informed approach to healing and recovery

I am a trained EMDR therapist, and I often integrate EMDR into my work with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted by constantly thinking things through.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain and body process distressing experiences in a way that doesn’t require you to relive or over-explain the past. Many people appreciate that EMDR allows healing to happen without having to retell painful stories repeatedly.

EMDR can be especially helpful if you:

  • Feel anxious without always knowing why

  • Carry emotional weight from past relationships or life experiences

  • Notice your body staying tense, alert, or on edge

  • Feel tired of managing everything on your own

Our work is always paced, collaborative, and centered on emotional safety. You remain in control throughout the process.

What Can Therapy Support

People often seek therapy with me for help with:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Emotional abuse and relational trauma

  • Burnout and difficulty resting

  • Trauma recovery and nervous system regulation

  • Reconnecting with themselves in a grounded, sustainable way

Therapy is not about fixing you. It’s about understanding yourself with compassion and learning how to live with more ease and intention.

Therapy Is A Lifestyle

I believe therapy is a lifestyle, not a last resort.

Rather than waiting until things fall apart, therapy can support intentional care across key areas of life, including:

  • Relational health

  • Mental and emotional well-being

  • Physical and nervous system health

  • Financial stress and responsibility

  • Meaning, values, and grounding

This approach allows mental health care to be preventative, sustainable, and integrated into everyday life.
